Concerts on the Creek presents a special concert commemorating Feb. 2, 1959—“the day the music died”: Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens were traveling to Morehead, MN as part of their “Dance Party Tour” when their small, chartered airplane crashed, and they lost their lives. On Friday, Feb. 2, 2023, Ron Holm and John Bishoff will create a 'fantasy concert' featuring some of the songs that Buddy, Bopper, and Ritchie would have performed at Moorhead, MN Armory if their plane had not crashed. Also included are songs by surviving tour mates Dion DiMucci, Waylon Jennings. The concert will include an interesting history of the tour promoters and organizers.
