Composer Dr. Michael Karasis presents “An Afternoon of the Macabre,” Music for Chorus and Orchestra
On Saturday, July 13, works of “the macabre,” by versatile Illinois composer Dr. Michael Karasis, will be featured in an exciting musical collaboration with the Elmhurst Choral Union, performing his oratorio for chorus and orchestra Frankenstein. Also on the program will be Prometheus, his overture for orchestra, and the premiere of The Raven, a tone poem based on Edgar Allen Poe’s classic. The pieces will be played by The Orchestra of the Macabre, under the direction of Scott Uddenberg.
