House Dist. 66: Skillicorn vs. Zettler

Republican Allen Skillicorn faces Democrat Nancy Zettler in the race for Illinois House of Representatives in District 66. The district includes Crystal Lake and Huntley, down to Elgin.

Incumbent Republican Michael W. Tyron, who has represented the district since 2005, is not running for re-election.

Allen Skillicorn is a life-long resident of the Fox River Valley area. He currently is a trustee for the Village of East Dundee and Vice-Chair of the Kane County Republican Party. Professionally, Skillicorn is a marketing director for an electronic manufacturer in Dundee. He defeated Dan Wilbrandt and Carolyn Schofield during the March Republican primary. Some of his priority issues include government accountability and lowering property taxes.

Nancy Zettler has lived in the Algonquin area for nearly 20 years. She is the owner of a law firm and also heads the "Zettler Advocacy Group," which handles tasks like community organizing and school advocacy. Zettler was Chair of Advance 300, a local group that supports Community Unit School District 300. She ran unopposed during the March Democratic primary. Some of her priority issues include restoring funding for higher education and government transparency and accountability.
