Rockford residents are invited to share their thoughts on creating a Family Justice Center. It's part of Mayor Tom McNamara’s Office of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Prevention and the 17th Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Coordinated Court.
The facility would serve as a central location for survivors and their children to access support services from groups like law enforcement and social services. Mayor McNamara says the forum will give residents two important opportunities.
“One, get to know what a family justice center is if you’re a citizen of Rockford. Two, make sure that you have input on what this family justice center will be," he said.
The forum takes place Thursday, July 5 at 6 p.m. in the District 3 Headquarters of the Rockford Police Department (557 S. Newtowne Drive).
