Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara and his wife, Sarah, welcomed a baby boy Friday morning.
According to a news release from the city, Malachy John Ambrose McNamara joined the family shortly before 9 a.m., weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches. The couple also has a 14-month-old daughter, Olympia Rose.
The release says Mayor McNamara will be spending time with his family during the next few days and remains in regular contact with the Mayor’s Office.
