Demolition of a dozen properties owned by ShoDeen Group developers along West Lincoln Highway, Pearl Street and Anne Street starts next week.
The properties were approved for Demolition by the DeKalb City Council. They include: 112, 120, 123, 124/126, 128, and 133 Pearl Street; 226, 234, and 242 Anne Street; and 186, 196, and 202 West Lincoln Highway.
Drivers should expect changes in traffic patterns, including lane closures along West Lincoln Highway. Pearl Street will remain open for public use. Since several of the properties have retaining walls, sidewalk closures also are expected along West Lincoln Highway and Pearl Street.
After demolition of the properties, the land will be modified to have proper drainage and a level grade consistent with the surrounding properties. All connections to existing utilities, including water and sewer, will be disconnected and the utilities will be properly capped for future development.
