Mobile Secretary of State, Driver & Vehicle Services Unit @ DeKalb Township
Area residents can elect to visit the DeKalb Township building instead of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for select services on Wednesday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services offered will include Real ID Issuance (first time State ID card, conversion of existing Driver’s License or State ID card to a Real ID), Driver’s License Issuance (renewal, duplicate, corrected), State Identification Card Issuance (first time, renewal, duplicate, corrected), Vehicle Registration Stickers (expiring this year), Organ & Tissue Donation and Voter Registration (only with License or ID Application). Road tests and written exams will not be administered by the Mobile Unit.
Payment methods accepted by the Mobile Unit will be limited to Visa, Mastercard, AMEX & Discover Credit and Debit Cards as well as Money order or Personal checks for the exact amount (cannot be post-dated). Acceptable Proof of identification (including residency) are required. Residents are encouraged to contact the DeKalb Township for a detailed listing of the state-mandated-documentation needed to complete the service(s) they are seeking. The Secretary of State Mobile Unit can only accommodate a limited number of patrons, so residents are urged to contact the DeKalb Township to schedule their appointment. Priority will be given to DeKalb Township residents, however residents from near-by Township may also be eligible to participate. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis while appointments last. The DeKalb Township Office Building is located at 2323 S. 4th St., DeKalb.
