Harlem Hills Prairie Watchdogs Volunteer Workday

Harlem Hills Prairie Watchdogs Volunteer Workday

Event Details

Join the eco-restoration gathering at Harlem Hills Nature Preserve in Loves Park, IL! Harlem Hills is a very special remnant prairie representing 70% of what is left of gravel hill prairie left in Illinois! Join the community working to tend and protect this special place!

We’ll work on brush removal to help open up the prairie to more sunlight and eliminate woody invasives. Weather permitting, we will burn what we cut down. We’ll also take a hike and make observations for the City Nature Challenge!

Please RSVP to Jessie (jessie@friendsilnature.org) so we can give you directions on where to go. Wear clothes to work in that you don’t mind getting dirty, a full water bottle, and sturdy shoes to wear. We provide tools and gloves. Feel free to bring a friend along or a snack to share if you wish!
