Dishing on the Farm Bill at Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm in Ottawa, IL

Dishing on the Farm Bill at Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm in Ottawa, IL

You're invited to Dishing on the Farm Bill at Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm in Ottawa, IL, hosted by the Illinois Stewardship Alliance on June 5th, 2022.

This year, Congress is working on the 2023 Farm Bill– the major food and agriculture package that comes around about every 5 years. The Farm Bill determines funding for everything from food stamps to crop insurance and sets policies that will decide what type of food ends up on our plates and what type of farming practices are encouraged or discouraged. In order to ensure that local food and sustainable farming are a priority for the next 5 years, Congress needs to hear from us.

With five members of Congress from Illinois on the House and Senate Agriculture Committee, folks in our state have a unique opportunity to shape the future of food and farming in this country. Now is the time to grab your friends and speak up!

Dishing on the Farm Bill is your opportunity to:

•build community with farmers and eaters in your district
•see the sights, meet the animals, and learn all there is to know about Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm directly from Jody and Beth Osmund
•share a locally sourced snack
•learn some of the top food and agriculture priorities in the Farm Bill and how to take action

These events are free and open to members and non-members of the Illinois Stewardship Alliance. We do ask that you register to attend the Dishing events so that we can plan food and beverages accordingly.
