BRUISED ART SHOW
“Bruised”- An Art Exhibit to Support Survivors of Domestic Abuse
Opening Night: Friday, September 5th, 6-10 pm
317 Art Collaborative is proud to present “Bruised,” a powerful group exhibition dedicated to raising awareness and support for victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. The show will open on Friday, September 5th, from 6-10 pm at 317 Art Collaborative, 317 Market St., Rockford, IL.
“Bruised” brings together area artists who confront the complex realities of domestic abuse while also honoring the resilience, courage, and hope of survivors. Through painting, photography, and mixed media, the exhibition sheds light on stories too often left in the shadows. Each piece invites reflection, dialogue, and empathy to break the silence around abuse and create a path toward healing.
At 7:30 pm, we will have a guest speaker, McKenna Bauer, Senior Prevention and Outreach Coordinator for Remedies. Erica Engler, Executive Director of Rockford Sexual Assault, will also be on-site and will be selling candles for their Dispelling Darkness Candlelight Vigil.
Donations will be accepted at the gallery to benefit Remedies - a local outreach program for domestic violence survivors. Additionally, 317 Art Collaborative will donate 10% of all art sales to Remedies.
The exhibition will run from September 5th to October 20th. Admission is free and open to the public. 317 Art Collaborative is a safe space for all.
