NIU's Head Baseball Coach resigned. Ed Mathey led the program for 12 years. Mathey will become head coach at North Central College in Naperville, the position he held prior to coming to DeKalb.
According to a news release, Mathey, was NIU’s all-time leader in wins. He compiled a record of 294-371-2 in his tenure with the Huskies, which included the 2013 Mid-American Conference West Division Championship. He had the four highest single season win totals in school history, led by the 2003 and 2007 squads that each won 34 games.
