Michael Jackson, Bruce Lee, and a pile of expensive furs are on the auction block tomorrow. U.S. Marshals are selling off some of the valuable possessions of former Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his wife, former Chicago alderman Sandra Stevens Jackson.
Congressman Jackson, Jr. pleaded guilty to using $750,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses. Last month, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison. Sandra Jackson was sentenced to one year in prison for filing false tax returns in an attempt to cover up the fraud. A judge allowed the couple to stagger their sentences, so she will go to prison when her husband is released.
Federal authorities are hoping to recoup some of the misappropriated money through on-line auctions. Up for bid starting Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. central, are a collection of women’s fur coats: two fur-trimmed capes, a mink parka, and a mink and fox jacket. All were purchased from famed Beverly Hills furrier, Edwards-Lowell. Auction prices start between $115 and $260.

For the autograph collector, there are framed and signed collages of two of America’s late, great entertainers: Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee. Jesse Jackson, Jr. purchased the autographed memorabilia at an antiquities shop in Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. There are six Michael Jackson and three Bruce Lee items, with starting bids ranging from $135 to $525. Certificates of Authenticity all list Jackson, Jr. as the buyer.

Bidding on the auction items ends in the 10:00 hour on the morning of September 26th.
