Illinois State Police are warning drivers to be mindful of deer this fall.
More than 20,000 deer are involved in accidents each year in Illinois. October, November and Decemberare the months in which most accidents occur.
Most deer-vehicle accidents happen during dawn and dusk hours when deer are active.
Exercise caution when driving near wooded areas or fields.
