Walk For Wishes

Walk For Wishes

Register for Walk for Wishes® to bring life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. Participate in person at select locations or walk in your own neighborhood

Make-A-Wish Illinois is excited to announce that Walk for Wishes is returning to Illinois! Wish families and supporters are invited to come together to walk in support of Make-A-Wish Illinois on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Walk For Wishes® supports granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. It’s a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, companies, donors, and friends. By joining this caring community of people at one of the many walks across the U.S., you will help ensure that no child waits even one unnecessary day to experience the hope and joy that a wish brings.

Due to Covid-19 state and CDC guidelines, Make-A-Wish Illinois will remain flexible to accommodate the statewide Walk For Wishes Walk Day celebrations. We plan to offer safe event day celebrations in select cities across the state and continue to offer participants a DIY option to walk in your own neighborhood from a distance.

By participating in one of Illinois' walk day celebrations or by making the walk your own in your neighborhood, you can help bring the life-changing impact of a wish to children in your community who are battling critical illnesses.

In-person Walk Celebration Locations:
• Hessel Park in Champaign
• Montrose Harbor, Grove 16 in Chicago
• Busse Woods, Grove 28 in Elk Grove Village
•Illiniwek Forest Preserve Pavilion in Moline
•Rock Valley College in Rockford

The event start time is 9:00 AM. Registration is Free. Register today at http://site.wish.org/ILWalk21 and start fundraising early whether you plan to join us in-person or walk on your own.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH Since being founded locally in 1985, the chapter has granted more than 16,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with children across the state with help from dedicated volunteers and generous community members. A child does NOT necessarily have to have a terminal diagnosis to qualify. For information visit: wish.org/illinois.
