This fast-paced story explodes with blistering comedy and timely relevance. Emily Penrose, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high-end magazine, hires a determined millennial fact-checker named Jim Fingal to work on a groundbreaking essay written by the famous author John D’Agata. The deadline is tight, and when truth collides with facts the fireworks begin.
The Lifespan of a Fact, by Jeremy Kareken with David Murrell and Gordon Farrell, features Ricki G. Ravitts as the editor, Ian Garthwaite as the fact checker and David A. Gingerich as the author. The production is directed by AET Producing Artistic Director Richard Raether.
The Lifespan of a Fact will be performed November 2-19 in the Cheek Theatre inside the Clark Arts Center at Rockford University. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30, Fridays at 7:30, Saturdays at 4:00 and 7:30, and Sundays at 2:00.
Thursday tickets are $19. All other performances are $28 for adults, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased online at www.artistsensemble.org or by calling 815-394-5004. This play contains adult language and is recommended for high school and up.
Artists’ Ensemble is the state line area’s resident professional theater performing in residence at Rockford University.
