STRANGE LOOKING CREATURE: The Photographic Art of Bernadette Woodruff

STRANGE LOOKING CREATURE: The Photographic Art of Bernadette Woodruff

A collection of MFA candidate Bernadette Woodruff's photographic art, entitled STRANGE LOOKING CREATURE will be on display from January 17 to 24 at the Annette & Jerry Johns Gallery in the Jack Arends Building on the Northern Illinois University Campus.

Please join us for a reception with the artist the evening of Thursday January 23rd from 6pm to 9pm. Hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

If you cannot join us at the reception, we hope you will be able to stop by the gallery sometime during the 8-day run. Gallery hours are 10am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.

BERNADETTE WOODRUFF is a photographic artist and art educator based in Northern Illinois. Using hybrid analog/digital techniques and equipment, her work is informed and augmented by her experiences as a metal and wood worker.

Of the collection, Bernadette writes: "Self portraiture does not involve ego, vanity, or narcissism. Self portraiture is an open confrontation with the discomforting feeling of being perceived by others, through projecting and encountering one’s own form in strange and delicate parallel realities.”
