Residing in Sterling, Illinois is local artist Stephen Hart. “My art of passion is photography. Starting out at the young age of 13 my hobby has been evolving. Times have changed since the film days. Today’s modern cameras have so many features. I went from a Minolta XGM to a Nikon Z9. Nature and wildlife is where I like to be. Other hobbies I enjoy is hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, horseback riding with my sister Susan and brother-in-law Randy, and bird watching.

A person doesn’t understand the art of photography until you finalize a digital image, put it on paper and have it framed. Photography is not just snapshots in my mind. There are sometimes a lot of planning and color rendering in light room. Sometimes a distracting branch might have to be removed in photoshop. My goal is to process that image as how I saw it in the field.
