Putnam County Public Library District Hosts Film Screening “The Greatest Bond”
The Putnam County Public Library District invites the community to a screening of The Greatest Bond on Tuesday, September 9, at 1:00 p.m. at the Granville Branch.
This PG-rated documentary (54 minutes) offers an intimate look at the extraordinary bond between U.S. veterans and their service dogs. Filmed in an observational style, the film follows veterans on a journey of healing and hope as they are paired with dogs specially trained to assist with daily tasks, provide constant companionship, and ease the effects of PTSD. The documentary also shines a light on the remarkable process behind the training. Viewers will meet the puppies just starting their journey, the female inmates who lovingly help raise them, and the compassionate trainers who guide the process with expertise—and a sense of humor. By the film’s conclusion, audiences won’t just see how these dogs support veterans; they’ll come to understand how they can truly save lives.
This screening is made possible through public performance rights provided by Kanopy. For more information, please contact the Granville Branch at 815-339-2038. The library is located at 214 S. McCoy Street, Granville, Illinois.
