Movie Matinee: Intelligent Trees

Movie Matinee: Intelligent Trees

Join us, at the Granville Library, on Tuesday, April 22nd, at 1:00 p.m., when the Library hosts a screening of the documentary, “Intelligent Trees,” to celebrate Earth Day.

Trees talk, know family ties and care for their young? Is this too fantastic to be true? Peter Wohlleben, author and forester, and Suzanne Simard, scientist, have been observing and investigating the communication between trees over decades. And their findings are most astounding. This documentary features the main observations that are covered in Wohlleben’s book, The Hidden Life of Trees, such as the stump that has been kept alive by its neighboring trees, the old tree-couple that looks after each other, and the Mother Trees that suckle their offspring. The film also goes beyond those observations and claims, by matching them with the latest underlying Forest Science Research.

The film is forty-five minutes in length, not rated, and is made possible by public performance rights through Kanopy.
