Sycamore United Methodist Church's Music Ministries invite the community to share in "Glorify Thy Name," an early autumn hymn sing, at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the church located at 160 Johnson Avenue.

The 25-member Chancel Choir led by Peter Hansen, SUMC organist Craig Fritz, guest musicians, and vocal soloists and ensembles will perform traditional hymns and new songs of faith, from "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "In the Garden" to "Peter, Go Ring Them Bells" and "I'll Be On My Way."

"Hymns help remind me of the truths of my faith," said Fritz, who as church organist for more than 25 years has played dozens of hymns hundreds of times. ""Singing hymns to God with a whole congregation or group of friend brings me joy."
