Looking for another way to enjoy the winter season? Why not try your hand at ice fishing with the Boone County Conservation District and Coon Creek Casters!

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, children ages 5-15 with an adult can come to Spencer Conservation Area for an Ice Fishing Clinic from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. The event is free, but registration is required. Call 815-547-7935 or email office@bccdil.org to complete registration.

No experience is necessary to enjoy this event! Bring your own equipment if you have it, otherwise equipment is available to borrow. Make sure to bring a chair or bucket for your comfort while fishing. Meet at 603 N. Appleton Rd., Belvidere, IL 61008, park in the field parking lot, and walk down to the island pond. After fishing, enjoy lunch sponsored by the Clinic’s host Coon Creek Casters.
