Harlem Hills Prairie Watchdogs Volunteer Workday

Harlem Hills Prairie Watchdogs Volunteer Workday
This workday offers an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with Harlem Hills’ unique landscape and history, engage in hands-on conservation work, and collaborate on future stewardship plans for the preserve. Attendees are encouraged to wear work clothes and sturdy boots, and to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Friends of Illinois Nature Preserves will provide tools, work gloves, and snacks.
Participants should RSVP to Jessie at jessie@friendsilnature.org so that they can be notified in the event of any changes.
Parking: the Friends group will be working off of Windsor Rd., not the main parking area for the preserve. Volunteers should park on the grass near the gate at Windsor Rd. or at the end of Harlem Crest Rd. (located off of Forest Hills Road) and enter at Windsor Rd. gate. Paste these coordinates in Google Maps for directions: 42.323654, -89.020065. Watch for the signs.
This stewardship day promises to be an enriching experience for nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and community members alike. Come and be a part of the collective effort to preserve Harlem Hills Nature Preserve for future generations.
