HANDS OFF Protest
HANDS OFF Protest
Hands Off Protests will take place Saturday, April 5 around the United States. The Hands Off event in DeKalb will start at Peace Corner at noon with speakers. The group will then walk along Lincoln Way to Normal Street where we will sing and have a closing speaker. Participants are invited to check out Earth Fest at NIU’s Founders Memorial Library and to purchase lunch from food trucks.
According to the mass call from Indivisible “This is a nationwide mobilization to stop the most brazen power grab in modern history. Trump, Musk, and their billionaire cronies are orchestrating an all-out assault on our government, our economy, and our basic rights—enabled by Congress every step of the way.” Our goal is to keep a DEMOCRATIC government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Hands Off in DeKalb is co-sponsored by The Democratic Party of DeKalb County; REACT, an Indivisible Group; The League of Women Voters, DeKalb County; 350Kishwaukee; and Exploring Issues. Indivisible is a national group and progressive movement started in 2016 as a reaction to the election of Donald Trump.
