Chamber Music on the Fox is delighted to bring you the illustrious Avalon String Quartet to open our 10th season! The Chicago Tribune has described the internationally renowned chamber music quartet as "an ensemble that invites you — ears, mind, and spirit — into its music."

The Avalon String Quartet introduces our 2023-24 concert series with a performance of Borodin’s stunningly lyrical String Quartet No. 2, which is best known for its shamelessly romantic Nocturne. Also on the program is Shostakovich’s String Quartet no. 9 in E flat major, a deeply personal work that is filled with vibrant energy.
