Celebrate with the KSO at its Season Finale “A Taste of Italy” Saturday, May 4
Get ready for a special night of music that will take you on a journey to Italy! The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra presents its season finale concert: A Taste of Italy on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 7:30 pm, inside the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall in the NIU Music Building. Tickets are available online now and in the concert hall lobby a half hour before the concert begins.

Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi
Concerto for 2 Violins in A minor, RV 522, Op. 3, No. 8 by Antonio Vivaldi
Concerto in B minor, RV 580, Op. 3, No.10 by Antonio Vivaldi
Featured soloists are NIU violin professors Mathias Tacke, Blaise Magnière, Marie Wang, and KSO concertmaster Ann Montzka Smelser.
At the concert, Linc Smelser will be honored with a City of DeKalb proclamation to commemorate his 20th anniversary as KSO music director. And recipients of the KSO High School Musician Scholarship will be awarded.

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra continues the KSO Instrument Donation Project (KID Project) to help provide local students a chance to discover their passion for music. Donations will be accepted in the concert hall lobby before the concert on May 4.
Also, the KSO asks for the community's help in supporting the orchestra during Give DeKalb County, a 24-hour online, community fundraiser, held on Thursday, May 2. Mail-in donations are being accepted now if postmarked by May 2.
