On an August day 36 years ago, Los Cocos Locos of Alvarez opened its doors for the first time. The Stateline landmark is celebrating their 36th anniversary with special events all month. From 7pm to 9pm on Saturday August 24th, the Trinadora Duo (Janel Nelson and Ron Holm www.trinadora.com ) brings their unique musical talents to the celebration. Their musical potpourri (“popurrí”) includes vintage and contemporary pop, folk, country, jazz, blues, Mexican, Latin, Celtic, and other styles of music. On the special night of August 24th, they’ll include an extra helping of songs in the beautiful Spanish language. Janel and Ron self-accompany their vocals with keyboard, ocarina, guitar, ukulele, fiddle, harmonica, sax, bass, steel guitar, concertina, and more.
