Gallery Talk on Rebuilding After Wars
In this gallery talk, Professor Laura Heideman will share insights from her research looking at the long-term process of rebuilding communities after the end of wars, including the role nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) play in peacebuilding.
Professor Heideman is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology and the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies. Her interests include development, globalization, gender studies, human rights, social movements, organizations and civil society.
This gallery talk is held in conjunction with the “How We Rebuild” exhibition on display through Dec. 19. This exhibit is a program of ExhibitsUSA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance and The National Endowment for the Arts.
