The Chicago Brass Band Players will open the 2021-22 McHenry County College (MCC) Second Sunday Concert Series on Sunday, October 10 at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at the College’s Luecht Auditorium, 8900 US Hwy. 14, Crystal Lake, IL 60012.

The specialized ensemble will perform a variety of brass repertoire from a broad range of musical eras. The performance will feature sounds of the cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone horn, trombone, euphonium, bass, and percussion.

The Second Sunday Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, and jazz ensemble. Upcoming performances include a special Halloween Concert by the MCC Concert Band and Crystal Lake Community Band at Cary-Grove High school on Oct. 31 at 3 p.m.; Brian Torosian on Nov. 14 at 3 p.m.; the MCC Chorus on Nov. 17 at Noon; and the MCC Concert Band on Nov. 21 at 3 p.m.

The concerts are free of charge and open to the public.
