Ten days ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that public sector employees who choose not to join unions no longer have to pay reduced fees to cover collective bargaining. And already, a crusade to persuade teachers to drop union membership has hit Illinois.

Members of the Illinois House of Representatives twice expressed unanimous opposition Wednesday to expressions of racial animus.

In an official 105-0 vote, the House adopted a resolution -- sponsored by Rep. Elgie Sims, D-Chicago, and Rep. David McSweeney, R-Barrington Hills -- which vilifies white supremacists. The proclamation specifically “repudiates and condemns'' neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan and others that “espouse hate.''

More Staff Cuts To Rauner's Administration Reported

Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting that four more advisers to Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner are out Friday.

It marks the end of a week in which there’s been big turnover in Rauner’s office.

Rauner has a new chief of staff and a few other top advisory positions in his office who come from the hard-line advocacy group Illinois Policy Institute, which has a legal arm that’s sued over same day voter registration and union work rules.
