Several northern Illinois counties are taking part in a wage study, and those behind the effort say the data could lure new businesses to the region.
David Young, the Executive Director of the Northwest Illinois Development Alliance, says the research is intended to show areas for growth particularly in manufacturing, logistics, health care, and agriculture. Young says more than 250 employers will be asked to complete the regional wage and benefit survey. Northern Illinois University’s Center for Governmental Studies will analyze the results. The initial findings are expected to be released in May.
