Corn Fest will be held Friday through Sunday in downtown DeKalb.
The carnival will be in the Glidden, Ellwood and Haish city lots, which are located between Oak and Locust Street off of 2nd and 3rd Street.
Rides will also be in the parking lots of Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, Frontier Communications and Russ Burns Law Office. It also includes the employee parking lot of the DeKalb Public Library.
These parking lots will be closed until 11 p.m. Sunday for carnival set up and tear down.
Closures beginning 12 p.m. Thursday (according to DeKalb Police):
- Lincoln Hwy. between 1st and 4th Street
- 2nd Street from the railroad tracks north to Oak Street
- 3rd Street from the railroad tracks north to Oak Street with the exception of traffic from First State Bank that will exit on to 3rd Street to Locust Street to proceed to 4th Street until noon on Saturday.
- The city parking lot behind the DeKalb Chamber (Embree Lot). A limited number of parking spaces will be open for Barb City Bagels customers.
Closure beginning 3 p.m. Thursday (according to DeKalb Police):
- Locust St. between First and Third St. due to Farmer's Market.
Locust Street will remain partially open to First State Bank customers only. This will accommodate the drive-thru area, which is open until noon on Saturday.
Locust Street (drive-thru area to 4th Street) will be closed noon on Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday.
There will be signs posted by the City of DeKalb in advance as a reminder.
The DeKalb Police Department will start towing any vehicles that are in these lots at the time the closures begin. Any vehicles in violation will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The city lots at 4th and Grove and 2nd and Grove will be open throughout the festival. There will be street parking on Locust Street on the east side of 4th Street.
