Illinois Republicans are going all out to defeat a member of the Illinois Supreme Court. Tuesday State Chairman Tim Schneider held news conferences in several cities to announce the formation of the Vote NO on Kilbride grassroots coalition.

In Rock Island, he called Justice Tom Kilbride who's up for retention this year, a "pawn" of House Speaker Mike Madigan.

"Kilbride has been elected by Madigan's millions and time and time again he has returned the favor, rejecting every good government reform that has appeared on the docket, all in service to Mike Madigan."

And he listed some of Kilbride's key votes on the court - against pension reform, term limits, tort reform, and malpractice caps.

Schneider says to change Illinois we must get rid of Madigan, and Justice Kilbride.

Kilbride was first elected to the state supreme court in 2000, and retained in 2010. And to keep his seat, he'll need at least 60 per cent of the vote in the 21 county Third District in November.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
