Cherilyn Murer, a former Northern Illinois University trustee whose term expired last month, has been appointed to the Illinois Board of Higher Education by Gov. Bruce Rauner.
Murer, a resident of Homer Glen, is the founder of Murer Consultants and served as President and CEO of the national healthcare consulting firm for more than 30 years.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis University and received her law degree from the NIU Law School.
The appointment was announced Friday.
