KSO Instrument Donation Project Drive-Through Community Drop Off Day

KSO Instrument Donation Project Drive-Through Community Drop Off Day

Do you have a gently used instrument gathering dust in your closet? Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra announces the new KSO Instrument Donation Project (KID Project) to help provide local students in need a chance to discover their passion for music.

The KID Project collects unwanted band and orchestra instruments from the community. These instruments will be inspected, cleaned and repaired, then donated to DeKalb County school music departments to loan to students who lack the financial means to rent or buy their own instrument. All types of band and orchestra instruments may be donated (Pianos and organs cannot be accepted). If you do not have an instrument to donate but still want to support the KID Project, we gladly accept monetary donations for repairs.

The KSO is hosting a Drive-Through Community Drop-Off Day on Saturday, April 6 from 10am to 1pm at the Ellwood House at 420 Linden Place in DeKalb. Drive up the circle drive behind the Ellwood House and volunteers will greet you at your car to accept your instrument donation.

For more information about the KID Project please visit https://kishorchestra.org/kid-project or contact Deb Loitz, KSO Music Education Outreach chair, at musicoutreach@kishorchestra.org.
