DeKalb, IL – Students are back in class at Northern Illinois University. Events are going on as scheduled. And except for the makeshift memorials dotting the campus, NIU looks a lot like it did two weeks ago in the days BEFORE five students were killed by a gunman in their classroom.
But NIU is far from "back to normal." Counselors are on standby in classes again today. And there are many decisions still to be made about the university's future. WNIJ's Susan Stephens spoke with NIU President John Peters about these early days of recovery and how he is coping.
