What Will Happen To Our Farmland?

Is DeKalb County destined for the same fate as DuPage County and much of Kane County? Will our leaders be lured by additional tax revenue resulting in suburban sprawl consuming our land and way of life?

We need to view the top soil left by the glaciers in the same way people view the Great Lakes. A natural resource worthy of legal protection. Only a few other patches of earth match the fertile ground that covers DeKalb County. If we act now, we can ensure the farm land will be here for future generations.

Gregory Taylor retired from a career in materials management, supplier management, and purchasing for a major healthcare supplies firm with more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing.

He has presented at international conferences, local professional development meetings, and university classrooms as a guest lecturer.  He also is the author of Negotiations - Prepare To Win.

He opened Gregory Taylor Consulting in 2017. He lives in DeKalb with his wife Martha Gass. He also enjoys beekeeping, bird watching, running, and travel.

An Educational Take On Immigration

Ronald Reagan’s 1983 commission on education first sounded the alarm of our decreasing levels of academic achievement when it announced, "The educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a nation and a people."

The most recent test results show American high school students continuing to fall behind the rest of the world. In science, the U.S. ranked 25th; in reading, 24th; and in math 40th! Where are we going to get talented workers with the current situation in our secondary education system?
