The national average is up six cents, but still slightly cheaper than Illinois, at $1.81.

The cheapest gas in the state, on average, is in Champaign-Urbana, at $1.66. The most expensive is the city of Chicago, averaging $2.14, up eleven cents since last week. Rockford averages $1.77, which is up nine cents since last Monday.
