The deadline to register to vote in the November election has arrived. Voters can still cast their ballot after the October 9th deadline, but they will have vote early and not on election day. Voters must have lived in their precinct for at least a month before the election.
DeKalb County Clerk John Acardo says there are options after Tuesday's deadline.
"If people do miss the deadline of October 9th, we do have a contingency for that. Beginning on October 10th running all the way through November 3rd residents do have the opportunity to register to vote but they must at the same time also cast their ballot. The technical term for that is called grace period voting" - DeKalb County Clerk John Acardo
Acardo says he expects a third of the DeKalb County population will vote before Election Day.
