Two Chicago universities are among four finalists to host the Barack Obama Presidential Library.
The Barack Obama Foundation announced todaythat it has asked the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago to submit formal proposals for the library.
Columbia University and the University of Hawai'i are the other finalists contending to be the site of the Obama library.
The proposals are due in December. The President and First Lady will make the final decision, likely some time in 2015.
