Thousands Of Illinois Jobs Posted Online In May

More than 200,000 help wanted ads for Illinois jobs were posted online last month.  85 percent were for full time work. According to a news release from the Illinois Department of Employment Security, help wanted region leaders included:

Chicago metro (150,800) 

Bloomington/Peoria region (9,300)

Decatur/Springfield region (7,000)

Rockford Stateline (6,500)

Champaign/Danville (5,500)

Statewide, the top five advertised positions in April were truck drivers (11,165), registered nurses, (6,462), retail salespersons (4,983), first line supervisors of retail salespersons (4,631), and customer service representatives (4,267). 

The median hourly wage for an Illinois truck driver is $20.57; registered nurse, $31.34; retail salespersons, $9.85; first-line supervisors of retail salesperson, $17.03; and customer services representatives ($16.08).
