Rockford Police To Hand Out Candy Canes At Local Elementary Schools

The Rockford Police Department plans to spread holiday cheer to elementary school students this week.

Officers and command staff will be at the schools for about a half hour near the end of the day.  They'll hand out candy canes and talk with the students as they leave for the day.

 

Most of the visits will take place Tuesday and Wednesday.  They were also scheduled for today, but Rockford Public Schools are closed due to severe weather. 

 

Police will visit the following schools:

 

  • Aspire at Wilson Middle School, 520 N. Pierpont Ave.
  • Barbour Elementary School, 1506 Clover Ave.
  • Conklin Elementary School, 3003 Halsted Road
  • Ellis Elementary School, 222 South Central Ave.
  • Galapagos Charter School, 2605 School St., (Tuesday)
  • Haskell Elementary School, 515 Maple St.
  • Lathrop Elementary School, 2603 Clover Ave.
  • Lewis Lemon Elementary School, 1993 Mulberry St.
  • Marshall Middle School, 4704 N. Rockton Ave.
  • Martin Luther King Elementary School, 1306 South Court St.
  • McIntosh Elementary School, 525 North Pierpont Ave.
  • Spectrum Elementary School, 2909 N. Main St. (Thursday)
  • St. Bernadette’s Catholic School, 2300 N. Bell Ave. (Tuesday)
  • St. Paul Lutheran School, 811 Locust
  • St. Peter’s Catholic School, 1231 N Court St. (Tuesday)
  • Welsh Elementary School, 2100 Huffman Blvd
  • West View Elementary School, 1720 Halsted Road
