The Rockford Police Department is set to move into a new District 2 headquarters by the end of the year.
The Register-Star reports the city is renovating the Turner School building at Broadway and 10th Street.
At a press conference, Mayor Larry Morrisey thanked five local banks for a $10 million line of credit.
This building will house the investigative unit, and officials hope to have buildings for Districts 1 and 3 open in 2017.
