Rauner Administration Reaches Contract Deals With 3 Unions

WUIS

Gov. Bruce Rauner's administration says it has reached tentative agreements on labor contracts with three unions representing state workers.

The Republican's office announced Thursday that it has come to terms on four-year deals with the International Union of Operating Engineers, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, and the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers.
They represent several hundred workers at the Departments of Agriculture, Central Management Services, Corrections, Human Services, Juvenile Justice, Transportation, Veterans' Affairs, State Police, and the Historic Preservation Agency.

The workers, who must ratify the deals, are stationary engineers and plant operators, plumbers and steamfitters, and machinists.

Rauner continues talks with more than 30,000 employees represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
