One Day Only: Free Flu Shots Available At Rockford Drive-Thru Clinic

You don’t have to get out of your car to get a flu shot on Wednesday. That's because Mercyhealth and Molina Healthcare of Illinois are hosting a free, drive-thru community flu clinic at the Javon Bea Hospital on Rockton Avenue in Rockford.

Kelly Sprayberry is a nurse and spokesperson for the event. She said the process is quick.

"Should only be two to three minutes," she said, "however the wait may be longer depending on the line."

Anyone who is 18 or older may get the vaccine, as long as supplies last. Sprayberry said you do not need insurance.

"We do not require an ID," she continued, "although you are encouraged to bring an ID if you have one."

Sprayberry added that family members can attend the drive-thru clinic in the same vehicle. Each person, as long as they are 18 or older, will get the flu shot.

Anyone who gets a flu shot at the drive-thru will receive a gift bag filled with free winter essentials, as long as supplies last. The gift bags include a hat, scarf, gloves and ice scraper.

The first-come, first-served event takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 3-7 p.m. in the hospital parking lot at 2400 Rockton Ave. There will be signs directing drivers to the location. Click here for more details.
