NIU Professor Hired As DeKalb School District Interim Superintendent

NIU

The DeKalb Community School District 428 board unanimously approved a contract for Bradley Hawk as interim superintendent.

He was selected for the position after Supt. Doug Moeller was placed on administrative leave Sept. 21.  The suspension is the result of an order of protection filed by DeKalb High School Principal Michele Albano against Moeller.

Bradley Hawk was superintendent of the Burlington school district and currently develops online courses at Northern Illinois University.  The Daily Chronicle reports the contract would pay Hawk $925 per day for no more than 100 days of work.  He will work  for the district two to three days per week, while continuing at NIU on a part-time basis.

Moeller and Albano will appear before a judge today regarding the restraining order.
