Northern Illinois University hosted royalty Wednesday morning. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn received anhonorary doctorate from NIU for her work promoting science and education.
Several hundred people attended the public ceremony, and many also touredan art exhibit in honor of the event. The exhibit is only available for viewing at Altgeld Hall until noon Thursday.
NIU’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies is internationally known, and recently received a grant from the Thai government to further on-line materials about the culture and language.
