Northern Illinois University unveiled a new athleticsbuilding plan Thursday. The plan includes building new facilities, enhance existing ones and nearly doubling Huskie Stadium's capacity.
The renovations cost more than $100 million. The funds come from private and corporate donors.
NIU Athletics director Sean Frazier says, while the plan's approval took six months, this is only the beginning and the next step of the project has yet to be determined.
Frazier said at a news conference:
"There is a collaborative effort to decide that next project. But the great news is, there will be a next project."
