Jim Walz Will Challenge Randy Hultgren for U.S. House Seat

Democrat Jim Walz announced Monday that he will again seek the U.S. House seat now held by 14th District Republican Randy Hultgren.

Walz first ran against Hultgren in 2016 but only received 40% of the vote. This time, Walz says his priorities include sponsoring renewable energy legislation, fighting against the idea of corporations as people, and several health-related policies -- including negotiating lower prices on imported drugs and lowering the eligibility age for Medicare benefits.

The Daily Herald reports that Walz will face fellow Democrat Victor Swanson, who announced his candidacy in April, in the primary. However, Walz emphasized his focus is on beating Hultgren.
