Funeral Service Scheduled For NIU Student Killed In Aurora Shooting

Funeral services for Trevor Melvin Wehner of Sheridan are set for this Wednesday, February 20th.

Wehner was a victim of the shooting at the Henry Pratt warehouse in Aurora on February 15th; he was an NIU student and former employee at Tom & Jerry's of DeKalb.

45-year-old Gary Martin shot and killed him and four other people after being fired from his job of 15 years. He also injured five police officers before being shot and killed himself.

Wehner had just started his internship on the day of the shooting; the other victims were Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, Josh Pinkard and Russell Beyer.

A visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd., at 333 W. Church St., Sheridan, IL. The funeral service will be held at 7.

Northern Illinois University has scheduled a vigil Thursday to honor Trevor Wehner and Clayton Parks, who was a graduate from NIU's school of business. "Standing With Aurora: Honoring Our Huskies" begins at 5:15 Thursday in the Regency Room in the Holmes Student Center on the DeKalb campus.
