Developer John Pappas is proposing a second mixed-use building for downtown DeKalb.
He's currently involved with the four-story Cornerstone project, a $7.5 million development with three floors of apartments above ground-level retail at the site of the old Otto's building.
The Daily Chronicle reports that Pappas wants to build a second such building by remodeling or demolishing properties at 124 N. Second St, and 203, 209, 223 and 229 E. Lincoln Highway.
DeKalb Mayor Jerry Smith said this project indicates Pappas’s willingness to invest in the community. A public hearing on the project will be held July 19.
